The Worshipful Company of Security Professionals Charitable Trust is a registered charity (1088658) established by members of the Company with a mission to give back to the wider security community. The Board of Trustees oversees the distribution of monies, ensuring that the charities and initiatives it supports are rooted in one of the Trust’s three founding pillars:

i) assisting members and former members of the security profession in difficulty 

ii) promoting and furthering education; and

iii) delivering projects with wider significance to the public

In the last decade to 2023, with your help, the Trust has donated over £536,000 to charitable causes, with over £85,000 donated in the year 2023/24. For full details of the Trust’s donations, please view the Annual Report to the Charity Commission. Some of the projects recently provided for include:

  • Supporting the education sector through the Endeavour Award for the Harris Garrard Academy, Whittington Course, the King’s College MA Award, and foundationers at Reeds School. The Trust has also supported cadets through recent donations made to the City of London Police Cadets and the Wanstead and Woodford Air Cadets.
  • The Sheriffs’ Award for Bravery, awarded at the Company’s Annual Dinner, for the commendations presented at Common Hall.
  • Replenishing Emergency Trauma Bags in the City of London for those held in livery halls across the City 
  • Funding a video for the Consortium for the Prevention of Suicide to raise awareness of the risk of suicide in the security profession and supporting R;pple, an online suicide prevention tool.

The Security Benevolent Fund provides direct relief to current and retired members of the wider security profession who are struggling or have fallen on hard times.
