WCoSP Golf Day
Tuesday 4th February, 2020
The Worshipful Company of Security Professionals’ Golf Day took place for the fourth successive year at Shendish Manor Golf & Country Club on Thursday 12th September 2019 with the event once again being kindly sponsored by Mayflex.
The weather conditions were favourable and definitely conducive for the golfers and so it proved with some excellent scores recorded on the day. The course was in great shape and the greens were challenging as usual.
With the event becoming ever more popular, fourteen fourballs contested for the Team Trophy using the stableford format with full handicaps and the best three scores counting on each hole. No doubt a few of these handicaps will be closely reviewed prior to the 2020 event!!!!
Upon completion of the golf, a charity chipping contest was held on the lawn outside the front of the hotel once several golfers had been dragged away from the 19th hole. Clearly, chipping is an element of the game that all the golfers needed to practice as this mini event provided a few comic moments while raising a further £400.
The evening dinner and prize giving ceremony were held in the Longman Suite. The winner of the Team Trophy was Convergint with an excellent total of 134 points closely followed by the runners up Oprema with 132 points.
The Winner of the Individual Trophy was Tim Sykes from Total Security Protection with an outstanding 45 points narrowly beating his company’s owner Richard Parnell who ended up on 42 points. Clearly some pre-event practice had been put in place by TSP.
Many thanks go to all those who attended with special thanks to the sponsors Mayflex. The day was a fantastic success, enjoyed by all and most importantly raised over £6500 for our Charitable Trust.golf Social Events News
